US Largest Producer
Myth: Russia and Saudi Arabia produce the most energy.
Truth: According to EIA estimates, the US remained the world’s top producer of petroleum and natural gas last year, exceeding that of both Russia and Saudi Arabia, the second and third largest producers. For the US and Russia, total hydrocarbon production is almost evenly split between petroleum and natural gas. Saudi Arabia’s production, on the other hand, heavily favours petroleum.
